To be a successful blogger in Nigeria is not a day, not a week, not even a month/year job. Blogging in Nigeria is one of the lucrative ways to make money if you have the patience and the spirit to be consistent.
However, there are people who still do not get the hang of it. Successful Bloggers in Nigeria find the time and gave all to blogging.
Truth be told, you can’t blog for a little while in Nigeria and still not make a dime from it, but give it time and you will start making something at least.
How then can you become a blogger, who is not just successful, but who also creates value for their blog?
Quit trying to be a Linda Ikeji
Linda is a successful blogger in Nigeria, everyone who is interested in blogging in recent Nigeria has somehow been influenced by Linda Ikeji. Who wouldn’t?
I mean who would not want to buy a common handbag for over N5M and own a house in Banana Island?
However, blogging in Nigeria does not need another Linda. What we need is relevant information delivered in unique styles.
So if it is news updates you want to blog about, consider the packaging, that is the manner in which you deliver the news.
Linda delivers News in a language that is both informal and interactive. Also, she adds her opinions to her news stories so that they have a personality of their own.
This engages audiences and encourages response. Normally, news reports are emotionless. Doing same would only make you another Linda.
Carve out a Niche For Yourself.
This should come first. It is not difficult to notice that blogging within the spheres of Nigeria, now almost is synonymous with news and lifestyle updates.
This is not wrong but we cannot help but notice that there is very many relevant information that is not being delivered to the Nigerian public.
While giving updates on recent happenings is easy and does not require much research, it does seem to bore the audience, and may even bore you sef in the long run.
Because blogging requires a lot of consistency which I would talk about in the next point, it is advice-able that you blog about topics that you are passionate about.
That way, it never feels strenuous. Think about the niche you are most comfortable with and give information on that.
Have a Sense of Humor
You do not have to be an exceptional writer to be a successful blogger in Nigeria, but it would help if you are a funny one.
You see, many people find reading boring. They would rather watch videos and listen to audio messages but would hardly read.
If you want to get more traffic, you would have to encourage them to read your posts. What other ways to do so than making your posts funny?
Blogging in Nigeria and the world does not have to be an all-time jokes hub, just always get into people’s minds by cracking jokes, you can put in one or two techniques that would help your post seem interesting.
Readers would not realize until they have read the last word, just like you would do this one. *winks*

One of the most important aspects of being a blogger is the consistency. You may not be able to push 20 blog posts per day, but you can at least make sure that you maintain a steady frequency.
Even if you choose to post once per week, it would do more good to maintain that than to post so many on daily basis with poor consistency levels.
Choose a convenient frequency. Remember it is not about the number of posts you can generate within the shortest of time, but the steady balance you can maintain.
Your aim is to build a steady follower-ship.

Being Interactive helps your posts to travel far, not only because people like jovial people, but because being interactive gives your posts a personality.
Everybody wants to relate to a person and not just another lifeless blog.
Interaction also helps you respond to comments, and connect with your readers via social media platforms.
This is the marketing aspects of blogging, and the reason why most bloggers do not get it right is that they try to market their content without being interactive.
This would give your efforts a mechanical feel. Everybody knows the difference between an animated attempt and an inanimate one.
Make Use Of Analytic Tools
We all know how important customer services for companies is important.
Well, this is the customer service aspect of blogging as it helps you connect with your audience on a deep level.
